About GBCL:
Gilgit Baltistan (GB) having an area of over 72,971 km2 (28,174 sq mi) is a region of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. GB is a piece of heaven on earth, is highly mountainous having five of the 14 eight-thousanders mountains recognised by the International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation (UIAA) as being more than 8,000 metres (26,247 ft) in height above sea level, and sufficiently independent of neighbouring peaks, including K2, and additionally has more than fifty mountain peaks above 7,000 metres (23,000 ft). Three of the world’s longest glaciers outside of Earth’s polar regions arealso found in this region. GB has the Xinjiang region of China to the east and northeast as its borders. G,B.’s estimated population is about 2.0 million. For G.B.’s youth progress, healthy mental and physical activities and enabling them to participate in global progress while maintaining and preserving the nature of the region, “Sardar Hayaat MUHAMMED Khan Mandokhel” initiated to provide the sports facilities and infrastructure for G.B. under the umbrella of Gilgit Baltistan Cricket League (GBCL) with the aim to introduce, train, promote Cricket, football, athletics and all other sports amongst the youth of Gilgit Baltistan in addition to provide infrastructure for the sport and opportunities for regional, national and international sport events, matches, competitions, leagues
